Description

Vancouver Island, steelheader's utopia, has over 200 rivers, a veined network of nursery watersheds draining to the Pacific Ocean where steelhead grow and thrive. Most rivers have runs of winter steelhead while a select few have winter & summer runs. BC’s healthy hatchery program has increased steelhead catches providing a quality sport fishery. Join our local, experienced and skilful fishing guides and learn the significance of seasonal windows, run peaks, stream canopy, holding locations, water color, pools and riffles, fly patterns, lures and casting for steelhead. Gain fly casting skills then try your hand in the beautiful and bountiful Cowichan River near Duncan. Try casting and drift fishing on the all year steelhead stream, Stamp River at Port Alberni. At the Brant Festival learn about the migrating patterns of the Brant goose, visit the wildlife & fish woodcarving competition and the Wildlife Recovery Centre to learn how injured wildlife are treated and released to the wild.
