Description
 Would
you like to explore and learn while you walk in a Mediterranean
climate, amidst cultural richness, through charming communities,
around biological diversity and thru beautiful rugged landscape?
Are you seeking fun and friendship in a non-competitive environment
through safe exercise for good health and physical fitness? Join
local and visiting Volkssport walkers on south and central Vancouver
Island, the largest island on the western side of the Americas,
where two Vancouver Island Volkssport Walking Clubs host walks on
routes carefully created, measured and rated. Traverse seaside,
forest, lake, marsh, historic and view tracks in a region that has
become a Mecca for artists and outdoor adventurers. Learn about
the growth and development of the international Volkssport movement
that began in Germany in 1968. Local experts present island history,
the natural history of the unique Gary Oak Meadowlands and the cultural
